Architecture, Cartography and Energy for Improved Workflow is Second Course in the Blogs to BIM: Technology in Practice Continuing Education Series at DesignRealized
  By PRWEB

Oakland, CA (PRWEB) January 23, 2013

The second course in the 2013 DesignRealized Continuing Education Series Blogs to BIM: Technology in Practice will begin on Tuesday, February 5, at 12pm Pacific/3pm Eastern, with a session on Architecture, Cartography and Energy for Improved Workflow. This online course, which qualifies for 1 AIA CES Learning Unit, will examine a new method for mapping the way information is shared among architects and engineers.

Speakers Matt Grinberg and Adam Rendek from Stantecs San Francisco office will review the traditional method of energy analysis and share a new workflow map that they have developed. The map is designed to improve communication among disciplines and create better energy analysis results.

The expectations of architects and engineers, even inside the same office, are not properly aligned, says presenter Matt Grinberg. The process map that we have developed will improve workflows and communication among these disciplines.

Matt Grinberg, PE, BEMP, LEED AP, a Mechanical Engineer with the San Francisco Stantec office, specializes in HVAC design and energy simulations for sustainable buildings. Adam Rendek, LEED AP BD+C, also with Stantec, is a BIM expert and Virtual Design Specialist.

The 2013 DesignRealized AIA CES Education program consists of 24 courses split into three series: Blogs to BIM: Technology in Practice; Adaptive Reuse & Renovation, and Eco-Responsible Design 2030. Speakers for these programs are leading architects, consultants and contractors from such firms as HOK, Hensel Phelps Construction and the DLR Group.

The LearnVirtual development team creates the curriculum for DesignRealized continuing education programs. LearnVirtual specializes in the design and implementation of training programs for AEC professionals.
