BLOOMINGTON, Ind., July 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lightweight natural stone panels from Indiana Limestone Company drew strong interest at the AIA Conference on Architecture Expo 2018, June 21-22 in New York City. Visitors responded to the prospect of applying the beauty, versatility, and permanence of premier limestone in a wider range of applications than was previously available.

These new lightweight, composite Indiana Limestone panels were presented in a wall setting illuminating the design capabilities of this advanced construction technology. At a show marked by exceptional attendance, the Indiana Limestone display attracted sustained attention from visitors representing firms with a wide variety of design and construction specialties.

The products are designed for mid-rise and high-rise applications where Miami-Dade NOA or High-Velocity Hurricane-Zone (HVHZ) performance is required. These thin limestone panels weigh in at 80% less than solid slabs, which translates to a vastly lighter load - on structures, labor crews, and equipment costs.

They now make it possible for Indiana Limestone materials to be used in nearly every cladding application.

"AIA is an important show for us to reach Architects and the larger specifier community," said Ben Wojcikiewicz, Indiana Limestone Company Director of Product Development and Marketing We received overwhelmingly positive feedback around our portfolio of cladding solutions including our new lightweight panel system. We also had a great team there who did a good job on educating around how our products are part of larger building systems. Our hope was to engage this group and drive awareness and excitement and we did all of that."

A video prepared from the CEU presentations is under preparation, and will soon be available to share the new capabilities of Indiana Limestone Company's lightweight panel products.

A new website, http://lightlimestone.com, provides a wealth of detail on Indiana Limestone Company's new panels, highlighting their light weight, great strength and modular versatility. Available from the site are three-part specifications, CAD details and BIM objects.

Architects can contact Indiana Limestone Company at 866-374-0358 to arrange lunch-and-learn sessions on the new panel system. Participants earn AIA continuing education units.

For the display, Indiana Limestone Company's lightweight panel products were showcased in a continuous insulation detail alongside products from Rainscreen Solutions and the ROCKWOOL Group. Its full bed veneer line is shown in a residential rainscreen detail constructed with products from ROCKWOOL, Dorken, and Heckmann Anchors. The natural stone thin veneer category displays drainage matts from Masonry Technology, Inc., and the LATICRETE Masonry Veneer Installation System (MVIS).
