AutoCAD 2002 Commands
Seven AutoCAD 2002 Commands You'll Want to Know By Elise Moss Here are some new AutoCAD 2002 commands for specifying distance to shorten a haloed line, processing during a HIDE command, specifying color of obscured lines, controlling the associativity of dimension objects and more.

HALOGAP

Specifies the distance to shorten a haloed line. The distance is specified as a percentage of one inch and is independent of zoom level.

A haloed line is shortened at the point where it will be hidden and is only visible when the HIDE or SHADEMODE HIDE commands are used.

HIDETEXT

Specifies whether text objects created by the TEXT, DTEXT, or MTEXT commands are processed during a H I D E c o m m a n d .

Off Disables Hide processing of text objects. Text is not hidden and does not hide other objects unless the text has a thickness assigned to it.

On Enables Hide processing of text objects. Text is hidden and does hide other objects.

When dealing with text objects, legacy behavior is achieved by setting HIDETEXT to Off.

OBSCUREDCOLOR

Specifies the color of obscured lines. Values 0 and 256 designate entity color. Values 1-255 designate an AutoCAD color index (ACI).

An obscured line is a hidden line made visible by changing its color and linetype and is visible only when the HIDE or SHADEMODE commands are used.

The OBSCUREDCOLOR setting is visible only if the OBSCUREDLTYPE is turned ON by setting it to a value other than 0.

OBSCUREDLTYPE-

An obscured line is a hidden line made visible by changing its color and linetype and is visible only when the HIDE or SHADEMODE commands are used.
